All About Dota 2

There are many popular online games nowadays, but nothing seems to parallel or at least conquer that of DOTA 2. DOTA 2, which means Defence of the Ancients is a strategy game which could either be played individually, or you can also choose to battle it out by team. There are a lot of things you have to keep in mind, and a lot of strategies you have to be able to observe for in order to succeed. One of the key factors of Dota 2 is the dota 2 MMR.

What is MMR?

MMR in Dota 2 is defined as the Matchmaking Rating. How skilled you are in terms of playing the game is reflected through this number. There are 5 MMR values which could be tracked independently, and this includes both Solo and Group ratings for Normal Games, and Solo, Party, and Team rating for the ranked games. This MMR gets to increase every time you get to play the game. Uncertainty serves as the MMR standard deviation, and therefore unexpected match outcomes increase the risk of uncertainty. This means that you get to gain a higher MMR per battle if you fight against a team or an individual with a much higher initial MMR rating than you do.

Given the MMRs serve as a gauge as to how skilled or experienced you are as a Dota 2 Player, the official site of DOTA has launched percentiles, that help you determine your rank or standing with the rest of the Dota 2 playing community. An MMR rating of 4100 or better is considered a rarity, being the mark for the 99% percentile. Most players of the game have an MMR of 1,100 as this number is one which sits at the 5% percentile.
